Kratom Lawsuits

The opioid epidemic in the United States resulted in devasting consequences to those with chronic pain, and many have made efforts to switch to natural painkillers, such as Kratom. Kratom (Mitragynine speciosa) is a plant that produces chemicals producing similar effects on the body as opioids.

Historically, southeast Asian farmers would chew the leaves of the Kratom plant to increase productivity and reduce fatigue. In 1943, the government of Thailand actually made it illegal to plant Kratom trees and classified it as a narcotic.

There is no legitimate use for Kratom in the United States, and it has been linked to numerous overdoses, some leading to death.
